The African American Heritage Festival is held the 3rd Saturday in August. Locations are downtown Charles Town, Wright Denny Elementary, and alternative school grounds at Avis and Lawrence Street. This event showcases the history and talent of the African American community in Jefferson County, with vendors, a parade, and live entertainment as well as tours of historical landmarks significant to African American history in Jefferson County, Charles Town, and Ranson.

The Berkeley-Jefferson Extension Master Gardeners are pleased to announce the seventh annual 2018 Tomato Festival from 10 am to 2 pm at the WVU Kearneysville Tree Fruit Research and Education Center.
The festival will feature tomato tastings, cooking demonstrations, the Tomato “Doctor” and seeds for next year’s planting season. Children’s activities and food will be available.

The 4th Annual Back Creek Valley Homesteading Festival will be hosted at the Lazy-A Campground in Hedgesville. A day of workshops on topics and skills of homesteading, self sufficiency, outdoor survival, bushcraft and preparedness. Also there will be vendors, food, pony rides, horse drawn carriage rides, live bluegrass music, kids activities and more.
